Great photos there Paul,

The girl (guessing your daughter) really makes this photo special.

Great photos there northern lights

[attachmentid=22378} took these over the weekend whilst i was in Boston lincolnshire

Nigel

Great 1st photo Nigel.

OK here goes.

I'm sure they don't match up to what has gone before but here are a few snaps from my recent trip to Scotland:

I was experimenting with my new camera and I found the black and white option (plus a little simulated red filter to go along with it!):

This next one was a result of mucking around with the exposure and a good bit of timing with the cloud cover:

SmallFindhorn2.jpg

Thirdly - who says it's always windy in Scotland?

For interest's sake the first two were taken in the Findhorn Valley near the Cairngorms and the third was looking across Loch Na Keal on Mull..

DS

Superb photos DS, especially this one. The lighting really sets this photo off.

Hi Paul,

I always find that to have a person in a landscape photo really adds interest.

Agreed ,Autumn really provides great photo possibilities.

Here's a weather picture that's a little unusual -- forest fire smoke reduces visibility to about 5 kms high in the Selkirk Mountain range of eastern BC this month. The view (such as it is) looks south down Slocan Lake from near the summit of Mount Idaho, which is about 2200 metres above sea level.

Lots of weather this month, but hard as heck to get a decent pic. These two taken today on Portsdown Hill, N. of Portsmouth.

Great photos there pm3, especially the 1st one. My type of photo.

Great photos there Lou,

The 2nd one does it for me. You can really feel the wind raising that surf.

All three of them are excellent Louby. And a nice level horizon with the middle one, too. :)

Well done indeed.

Looks as though August is going to be just as hard to pick the winning shot... :D

Cheers John.. And thanks for that link to

dpreview.com I'm sure it will prove invaluable

in getting the most out of photography and teaching

me how to use the camera correctly.... Here comes many hours

of study..!!! (still trying to get my head round John Holmes 'easy steps'

in understanding Skew-T diagrams!!)
