Really heavy thunderstorm passing through Belfast atm. A gust of 60kts was just reported at the city airport. Really heavy rain and hail. Exciting end to the year!!!!

some heavy rain and strong winds moved across about 30 mins ago, the movement of it suggested it was tornadic, the wind suddenly picked up, and everything including the rain was carried horizontally, and people could not move, it was quite funny seeing everyone just stop in sync

It did seem like a tornado went through though.

The after results included branches all over the place and other bits and bobs.

The main talking pint for me today is the temperature, 13c max following previous maxxes of 13c and 14c on Friday & Saturday. A quite remarkable end to 2006 IMO.

Aside from that the morning was dry, bright & breezy and the afternoon wet and very windy. 12c now, gusty and briefly not raining.
