Dry and bright this morning after some severe thunderstorms last night with the heaviest downpour of hail I've ever seen. Cloud coming in from the west now and looking very ominous. Low of 6.5C last night and currently 8.7C.

Positively wintry. Good old fashioned mP flow, excpet that it's a tad warmer than it used to be so I've got hail and rain, not snow (nice piccies of hail, and a distant anvil in the clearance, over on the snow reports thread). Was 4.5C, dropped to 2.7 at the back of the thunderstorm; thought the hail might turn to snow (tehre was a time...yawn), but it didn't. Still, a ten minute dusting of white..and that, my friends, was winter...

Started off beautifully sunny and dry here this morning. Drove down to Dorking for a walk but come about 3.45 it started to chuck it down and had some thunder and lightning thrown in. Back home now and its pouring down. No idea of temp because thermometer is outside in the dark but current pressure is 1006mb
