I'm in Ruislip not far from Heathrow and its bucketing down. Can hear thunder but it seems to be all in the distance for now. Not seen any lightning either...

Sporadic thunder and lightning still here but looking at radar it should clear soon, spoke to a mate in Bournemouth and the sun is now out there. We must have had a good 8-9 hours of moderate and heavy rain

I'm wondering if rainfall here today will exceed the amount which fell on 14th June:

http://www.northantsweather.org.uk/images/2007/14jun07.jpg

As you can see, over 30mm rain fell during one hour here between 14.00 and 15.00. 68.8mm fell in total from 10am on 14th June through to 10am on 15th June.

rain easing, broken cloud visible on horizon, all coming to an end here. Best of Luck to anyone in the Midlands, think you could be in for some serious flooding.

You need to be more over Hanwell/ Southall way to be in the action

For a second there I thought I had heard the crackling of lightning... But when I looked out the window it was in actual fact someone setting off fireworks. Well, great day for it eh? :D

Yes, you can see on the latest radar image that a line of storms is currently moving across London, Some very intense downpours in there I suspect.

This chart is for members in London, SE and EA. Interesting next few hours

Seems to still be tracking west to east so only the southern Midlands are likely to be affected - south of Brum only :D

Heavy rain and high winds in Swindon now, really tipping down, thunder activity seems to have gone though.

Rain is really coming down here now. A few rumbles of thunder, too, and it's gone very dark in the past few minutes.
