Hi everybody, I thought I would join your forum and share a few of my photos. I try to spend alot of time out doors with my kids and we always take the camera along. Here are a few of my favorites. The coast Guard ship and Rainbow actually made it on our local weather as one of thier Hotshots. Looking forward to getting to know everyone......

Welcome, Maire. Some beautiful photos there. Very atmospheric. I look forward to seeing some more of your pictures in future.

Just one thing, though. Could you add your exact location to your profile information, please? You can access it via the My Controls area. From the logo on the ship it looks like you live somewhere in the Great Lakes area. Also, are the photos you posted ones you took this month? They need to have been taken in September to qualify as entries for the monthly competition.

well spotted Andy, any ideas how I reduce the pixel size as the resizing link on page 1 is not working?

Rich, if you use Outlook an easy way to resize pics is to highlight the ones you want, then from the File and Folder Tasks on the left of the folder window choose the E-mail this file option. Click on Show more options, and then the bottom option where it says Make my pictures this size. That automatically converts them to the maximum allowable size for NW competitions. When the email is created, just drag the pics into a different folder - as they will have the same name as the originals.

We were about half an hour north of Dumfries in a small village called Thornhill. I have relatives that live in Wanlockhead which is about 20 mins away, that's were I took the misty and the waterfall photo.

These pictures are all from my trip to the Lake District earlier in September. Mainly because thery're about the only pictures I took all month!

I've tried to pick ones which emphasis the sky/weather conditions (ie warm & sunny!) for the weather shots, with more general scenic shots going into the non-weather comp
