After a warm night, a bright start, soon becoming misty and breezy with good deal of low cloud rolling in from the east. The cloud began to thin and lift by around 09:30 GMT and good sunny periods developed, becoming very warm to hot by the afternoon with a continuing fresh easterly breeze. The warmest day of the year here by a margin of almost 2c over May 11th, it was also the warmest day since August 5th last year.

In marked contrast to the thick fog yesterday morning, today was sunny almost from sunrise and it was not until early afternoon that cloud built sufficiently to obscure the sun. The afternoon has been warm and overcast with a few spots of heavy rain around 1735 g.m.t and a heavy shower north of here, to the west of Castleton around 1800 g.m.t .
