I'm glad that I don't have to go out anywhere tonight

The rain is lashing down just now, and the winds are increasing, although nothing too spectacular yet, with gusts around 45mph.

makes a nice change to have some active weather though:D

Great, if you like exciting weather, conditions in the last hour with a squall line bringing torrential rain (around 90mm per hour) and winds gusting up to 50+mph which died out all of a sudden to flat calm and dry!

The temperature has dropped from 9.2c to 6.3c.

Temp has begin falling now - currently 5, DP2, Windchill taking to to 1 currently as the strong winds have dropped here for the moment.

Wind gusted up to 60mph a couple of hours ago according to the meto. I expect the wind to pick up again sometime in the night.

Apart from a bit of drizzle it has been pretty dry - in fact it was very sunny earlier this morning.

Pressure has been falling all day - currently 977mb.

Really noticeable drop in temperatures at the cold front night, fairly typically 3C in a very short passage of time, particularly across the south, and the evidence from around Bristol suggests intense downdraughts given that a short spell of snow was reported from quite a few locales in the area.

Currently 5C and heavy showers near Exeter. It was very gusty about a couple of hours ago with horizontal rain. The weather should be pretty exciting over the next few days, if probably not productive on the snow front.

Abolutely torrential shower here, wind gusting heavily (sorry no readings) and looks like more to come.

Edit: Hail now, small pellets, but very loud as they bash into the window!
