    Ive just heard that the Channel islands have a whiteout.

    That must be a 1st for them?

    Just looked at the radar and it looked like Jersey would be missing out but now it covers all the Channel Islands.

    Also noticed the big blob west of Cornwall is so very close to touching the Isles of Scilly, now that would be an event if the Scilly isles got a white out.

    Intermittent moderate snow overnight has left a cover of 5.5cm. And with a fresh NE wind, a severe penetrating frost, with an air minimum of –2.4c and –6.6c on the snow. At observation, (never thought i would write this) Heavy blowing snow with drifting in a strong NE wind.

    The day dawned cold and overcast with a fresh to strong easterly wind giving sub-zero wind chill. At observation, overcast and feeling very cold with a few snow grains blowing in the wind. The morning saw a few sunny brief sunny spells before snow showers heavy at times commenced which continued through in to the afternoon. Maximum temperature 2.7c briefly around lunch time, but falling below freezing by early afternoon in the snow. Very windy and bitterly cold throughout, maximum wind gust 36mph from the east.

    Currently around 3, but the windchill is making it feel -2. DP -4. Not forecast to get below freezing today. Dry as a bone on the ground.

    Cold E wind. Some remnants of a very very light snowfall overnight but otherwise dry and overcast. Pressure 1016mb.

    A Picture taken at obsevation, shows how heavy the snow was still is, still falling with a another 3cm in the last half hour, almost white out conditions here now. Have updated rain total from snow melt, = 4.7mm.
