Rain/Sleet now turning to snow. Bigger flakes, and starting to stick.

In Yatton, south of Bristol

Yep, just starting to stick to the roads now in Wrington a mile or so south of you. Had a nasty feeling we were going to miss out again...here's hoping the heavy stuff keeps tracking up the M5

Looking at the radar pattern we are looking at 6hours of precepition over devon. Over dartmoor, for example, this could easily yield 40mm = 30cm+ of snow.

The temps will drop again from 00:00 through to 09:00am, as the northerly starts to have more of an influence, so i would expect even marginal places, whom have rain currently, to turn to snow at around 2-3am.

The most amazing fact i guess is that the gfs has the heaviest precipitation at 3am...that would be interesting.

All possible by the front now sitting over the south west, and then heading North East while always maining cover over Devon. Quality scenario.

Even Plymouth may get 2 flakes later; Currently 2.4oc and pure, watery rain. lovely.

Just had another moderate snow shower here, snow/sleeting lightly again, have a slight slushy covering on most surfaces but the concrete even though it was trying to accumilate. Hopefully some more heavy snow later on to get it settling nicely, still 1.1c outside

Had to post this up...the curse of Chelt tonight with a dry bubble of nothingness

:yahoo:

Yeah; the real heavy stuff seems to be stalling over Devon and south somerset. wouldn't surprise me if this begins to head off east in next 2 hours! :lazy:

EDIT: It's struggling to accumulate here, even though been snowing for a couple of hours. No more than a slushy dusting!
