Just wanted to post this in here as it shows the state of play really nicely - with the front moving south, showers in the north and western europe generally under sunny skies. This time of year is great as the light hangs around much longer so you start to get some much better visible satellite images coming through.

A very windy day here. After a cool and cloudy start we had some light rain early this afternoon. The rest of the day has been pleasantly sunny. feels warmish out of the wind however in the wind it feels cold.

A very very windy day today with some rain around 1pm and a VERY violent hail shower just before 3pm, i was right in it.

Ripped branches off trees, and newly growing flowers to shreds, 55mph gusts with a temperature drop from 8c to 3.5c in 5 minutes.

The Cold Front moved through with barely a whimper : the wind was less gusty than most of the day and the rain was light, lasted about 20 minutes, and gave just a trace in the gauge.

Currently : mostly clear with Altocumulus overhead & Towering Cumulus to the NE, breezy, 8.3c & 63% humidity.

After a cloudy and windy morning, the cold front came through just after 1:30pm, bringing a short spell of heavy rain and very gusty winds. It then turned brighter, but with a light hail shower around 4:30pm. Currently a thunderstorm is flashing away merrily just to my east as it travels down the coast. Fascinating days weather viewing.

2 minutes ago thunder and lightning from a heavy hail shower. Has apparently been trying to snow all day and snow reported in Bridlington also. More showers to come as well.

Have been out and about in Yorks and N Notts today, really strong gusty winds, dust blizzards, heavy rain, hail and snow. Oh, the sun shone as well.
