Lovely start with some sunshine and mild too after a low of 12.9c. Currently 14.3c with increasing cloud - looks like a day that will go downhill as it goes along. Shame for a Friday!

Been watching this weather front slowly crossing the country, and it looks very active over northern areas, with some really heavy downpours showing up on the radar. Anyone got any first hand experience of the rainfall, because looking at it I would have thought localised flooding is a possibility ?

Noob question...sorry.

How come the weather forecasts for the next few days are showing continuing warm temps when the GFS ensembles are showing a tight agreement for a cold plunge at 850 hpa from about the 2nd-5th May?

Something of a sunshine sandwich today because it started dull/drizzly, became sunny by 08.00 through to 14.30, and it's now cloudy with the front approaching from the West. Despite clouding over in the last hour the temperature has continued to rise and is 16.4c at present with humidity at 62%.

Sunny morning. Clouded over very quickly at lunchtime with a marked fontal cloud edge. Intermittent rain this afternoon. Brightening skies to the west showing. Looks like the front is breaking up as in pushes into the Midlands.

Maybe some late sunshine for an early doors beer across at the pub!
