What are the chances of a Bristol Channel streamer forming in all of this? Does anyone know? Wasn't it a Channel streamer that gave us our dumping last Sunday night?

My take on things is someone is going to get a lot of snow, most are going to see rain. Then as the week goes on the threat of snow increases for everyone.

Backing down?

With it's northward progression of the front. GFS is falling inline with the other models & going with the snow line sitting where Ian has it...... almost.

Ok.

Does this mean it wont reach as far north, Or does this mean itw ill reach as far, but the rain will be snow further south..

Just looked at the radar and there's some v.heavy precipitation just approaching the south west and into Ireland. Will it be rain, sleet or snow for us?

GFS has only fallen into line with the UKMO & ECM. The snow line is still in the same place as Ian posted earlier.

I'm sure there will be some subtle changes to the rain/snow 'boundary' forecasts later this eveningwhistling.gif

Im confused whats happened.

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/sw/sw_forecast_warnings.html

Have a look at this http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/sw/sw_forecast_warnings.html

Advisories for the South West for heavy snow or heavy rain, Tuesday and Wednesday. That was this morning. It was all looking to be further North this morning.

Now it's all looking further South.

I really haven't got the faintest idea, any more. :drinks::D:D :o

I give up.

If it snows, it snows. If it doesn't, it doesn't.

But I do so hope it does.

I think we are all going snow crazy.

Nothing has happened yet other than the GFS falling in line with the oter models.

It was so far out earlier, the only places that would see snow according to the GFS was mountains in north wales and Northern England.

But on the 12z it has brought that further south.

hahaha i love the honesty ... I am now totaly confused, one thread says NO snow and then i read er maybe we will then nope only Wales and the North, i know it is very hard to forcast, but looking at it all and taking a big huge deep breath im gunner say, ............... something will fall out of the sky. Cor its like waiting for a baby to be born and finding out what sex it is... got to love the british weather...

would love snow but temps are just far to high here.

Temp is dropping here, currently 3.1c.

I guess it might rise once the front arrives?

latest ukmo seems to decrease thickness above us and bring in the easterlys on wednesday - exact oposite from what the gfs was showing. BBC seeming very confident with the path of the low and the cold air not budging when this front comes over - I'm starting to loose my internal inbuilt pessimism now and realising this could be a serious dumping of snow! we'll see though..
