heavy snow in the forest, traditionally a great sign for snow heading this way, well i guess the temp may be that high if sheltered but the east breeze is knocking those temps back a lot.

right off to make a brew and by the time im back i will be seeing a few flakes swirling around, ideally that is

Just a quickie before i trudge off to work.

Raining here in North Bristol; no sign of snow in this rain.

As i missed any updates from 11 last night, are we still in the rain zone or a chance of snow later?

I thought thurs/friday was basically nailed on, as some of the more experienced members were saying in the Model Output thread!

Cheers Dogs for the reply.

Yes its great how that drizzle floats around in the breeze! rolleyes.gifrofl.gif

I am waiting for that heavy ppn to hit us to see if we can get evaporative cooling snow just maybe.

I am not sure what fell in the heavy burst earlier when i was in bed becasue there is slush on top of roof and in grass so could have been a mix of sleet/wet snow. temp 1.9c back to very light rain.

ITV just said up to 10 inches for some parts..

Its suppose to change to snow here later,at present it's got no chance with the current temp

Awoke to heavy rain in Stroud, been out to get wood for burner - intermittent heavy rain, no sign of sleet, but strong NE wind and feels about as cold as it can with rain! on the 5 min radar there is a second aread of heavy ppn following this initial one - maybe that'll come this way in a few hours with this predicted drop of temp? It wont matter if ground is wet, snow will always settle if cold enough.

Looking at the model output, once again the cold and snow for this week back across the E.

Then rain for us when it breaks down from the Atlantic.

This cold weather is doing nothing for me so far.

possible thuder shower's but I think you might be to far East.

Later as the rain become's heavier it should turn to snow according to Alex Deacon
