Unbroken sunshine all day with just distant cu and stcu on the northern and north eastern horizon.

Despite the sunshine the temp' fell during the morning to reach a min' of -3.8c before recovering to a max' of -2.7c early this afternoon. If the temperature doesn't do something strange and rise overnight ( it can never be trusted here ) it will be the coldest January day since the 25th in 1996 which also recorded -2.7c.

Just under -4C when I went out about half hour ago, clear with light breeze. Still a complete snow cover on the fields despite the sunshine from roughly 4" 1st Jan.

And, right on cue, it's turned cloudy in the last hour and the temp' is now up to -2.0c.
