min was 0.4C but no ground frost with the slow thaw continuing-snow depth down to 5cm and about a quarter of the garden now visible. still some snow in rain guage with total of 'rain' now on 4.2mm.

cloudy but dry with a light SE breeze.

The thick freezing fog cleared during the early hours of this morning after being present for about 36 hours. All windward surfaces of twigs, wire etc are covered with up to 20mm of rime.

Currently dry and cloudy with an increasing E/SE wind. Temp' is -1.0c after a min' of -1.1c. Mean wind speed is 19 mph E/SE, gusting to 31.

Mean depth of undrifted snow is 25cm and the snow has recently started to drift slightly as the wind increases, just enough to fill in my footprints from yesterday evening.

Rainfall ( melted snow ) in 24 hrs to 0900, 1.7 mm.

Currently overcast with a few light snow grains. The day continued with further outbreaks of light snow, but with only slight accumulation. Maximum 0.9c. Maximum wind gust 18mph NE.

The slow thaw continued through the day with even a very brief partial appearance from the sun around lunchtime-very fleeting but it was there-max today 2.4C the highest since a week last Monday.

The current mean for the first 12 days of January is -0.4C

Colder last night at -2.2c it was cloudy first thing at -1.0c too max of 0.2c rime still on the trees but some has blown off in the fresh to strong wind and the strongest drifting since before 2005/06

Lane filling up fast E/SE wind.

An overcast day with intermittent light snow this morning and for a time early this afternoon. The freezing fog returned for a while during early and mid-afternoon but lifted again by about 1600. Currently it's cloudy with a few flakes of snow at times and a bitterly cold SE wind which is drifting the snow again, the screen was a quarter full of blown snow when I took the readings at 1800.

Clear intervals and a touch of frost last night, cloudy later on.

Another very cold day, mostly cloudy, and rather windy (ESE). Periods of light to moderate snow set in after 1500 and has lasted since. A fresh fall of 7cm with some 15cm total accumulation (some loss/compression due to slight thawing over recent days- it was 13cm last week).

Min: -0.7c @ midnight.

Max: 2.3c @ 1330
