Afternoon all

Moderate snow falling here at work in Coningsby and is settling, and all this after some fine snow about an hour ago, Just rang home and it is snowing in Conisholme on the coast too. So it seems and warming effect from the sea is mimimal.

Its not really laying on the pavements due to the temperature, but nicely on cars and grass.

its nothing heavy but enough to cause my daughter concern, her grandad is comming to see her from sussex on friday and she does not want snow. lol

Well if this band of heavy rain keeps going East

and the temps and dew points stay low enough some one could be in for a good dumping??

looking at the radar there is a a large lump moving east to hit our region this evening - whats the view on amounts - precip type - I imagine snow as been snowing on and off all day here albeit light and temps are likely to drop.

Had some temporary accumulations of snow around lunchtime, but it's back to being damp and misty again

Yeah it does seem like the east may do well going by reports of snow on here earlier, we may get a dusting or even a covering, temps are dropping quite fast, when the front arrived it was 4.5c now its 3.7c and dropping and there is another band behind the first front so by then hopefully temps will have dropped enough for snow.

Anyway Looks like my forecast was wrong again!

Grey, cold and damp, A few light snow flurries this morning before light sleet. No PPN for the last couple of hours and the temp has risen slightly to 1.7C, Hardly the 4C forecast so I'm still hopefull.

I think we would be unlucky not to see any of the white stuff! Especially if the temp drops again as forecast.

Dew point very marginal now though at exactly 0.0C

cheers mate so accurate for dis morning though! 1st time ive used it! might be heading to snakepass this week! they just had a pasting up there!

am i wrong thinking the snakepass area has produced its own local convection in the ppn intensity?

Latest GFS gives a slight upgrade tonight (makes a change). I'm pretty sure the chart for 9PM showed rain but the chart now shows sleet, which could fall as snow. Looks like temperature and radar watching may be the case tonight.
