Someone in midlands thread thinks the snow reports will decrease in a few hours...i doubt it lol if meto have a warning out.

That will be me then. :)

Things will become even more marginal during the daylight hours but as temperatures fall back in the evening marginality isnt so much of an issue. If your on high ground then you may keep the sleet/snow today however these situations seem to have a mind of itself where anything can happen!

HUGE flakes coming down quite heavily now. But I still don't think it'll settle as the surfaces are too wet.

Just started to rain here with large bits of sleet, temp is 2.1c. The main action is supposed to

be this afternoon and evening anyway :)

That tells me that it is spreading Northwards, because we had that a while ago and now it is snowing quite heavily here. Big fat snowflakes are heading your way!

Think that must be what passed over me, incredibly heavy snow but didn't hear any thunder; back to just sleet now.

Well folks, it's still chucking it down here (near the racecourse in Bath) with 100% pure snow!

Big flakes too... Starting to settle on the grass and tarmac!!

No sign of any let-up just yet!

Apparently, there's heavy sleet in the centre of Bath...

Obviously a bit of elevation helps!

Large flakes of wet snow (Filton - N Bristol) Temp has dropped half a degree to 1.5C and DP is 0.8C.

Very difficult to see it settling on very wet ground. But it still looks nice clap.gif

Back to sleet here in whitchurch again.

Looking at bbc graphics they have all the ppn moving away from our region by 5/6pm!?

This is turning into a damp squib with it too far north and not enough ppn in our neck of woods. mellow.gif

Well if you lot up North get the rain that we got this morning as snow then you are in for a good time. It's bucketed down over night and there is a lot of flooding, temps just around 4c so no white stuff for us :(

Cars, grass, roads, paths - all going very white!

Still moderate falls of large flakes coming down! yahoo.gif

Hope the snow level drops off a bit though, as it seems that places below 150m ASL are getting sleet.
