Hi there,

Just want to say how much I'm looking forward to this tomorrow and getting to meet you all. I regularly read UKWW but as yet haven't taken the opportunity to become involved with Net Weather. I was directed to this link via UKWW and have just read the whole thread and am now even more excited - it sounds so much fun and with so many people making so much delectable food! I think Paul mentioned quite near the start of this thread that me and my boyfriend Tim would love to come.

Hopefully our photobook should arrive today with all our photos from our first Storm Chasing trip this year. We were up till the early hours on Monday putting it together ready to bring this weekend (nothing like leaving things to the last minute - have known about this for ages!).

Just wanted to add a little bit in regards to the perseids. I got back from the pub last night and decided to lay in the garden for a while and saw a total of 6 - which is probably equates to the total amount I've seen in my life. So really hoping for clear skies tomorrow. The only thing about doing it after a few drinks is that they all appear to be 'shooting'. Waking up in the garden at 6 o'clock this morning on a work day wasn't too clever either, oops!

Anyway, really looking forward to this. Thanks so much for coming up with such a great plan.

Cammie

I've got a tent sorted so no turning back now :) I've got plenty of video on the laptop though nothing on DVD from my trip. Not sure if I can hook the laptop up to a tv or not. Probably not... Still, I will probably bring my storms of 2007/2008 DVDs and I just received a copy of Bullseye Bowdle yesterday which documents the insanity of May 22nd. Managed to spot myself (well my car) twice on that DVD :drunk: I've done a timelapse of the entire chase from the first touchdown from that day also, although lack of tripod means if you are easily motion sick, you may want to avoid watching some parts :drunk: I'll chuck it up on youtube after the event so Pat can see it ;)

Just found out also that our 31st May (Campo) Colorado Footage is going to be available which has never been seen before so a nice taster for everyone at the BBQ.

This is 15 Minutes of Footage from just before Touchdown to when the Tornado Roped Out.

Awesome stuff, I've pretty much sorted mine out but not going be as eye candylicious as the tornadoes later in the tours. Nevertheless, there is some amusing banter, LOTS of swearing and some ace structure!

Cya all tomorrow :drunk:

Well all the preperations are now well underway , and I will have some time tomorrow morning to finish off the bits and pieces, so an early night for me hopefully! and then I will be up at the crack of dawn. Im sorry Pat, cant make it [when will I ever meet you Pat!]

but Im very much looking forward to seeing everyone.

Those good folks travelling over from the London direction, please note that all the Speed Cameras have been turned off in Oxfordshire, because of the Goverments cutdown on public spending, so you will have no problems in speeding through Oxfordshire!! and when you get to Fish Hill which is about a 1,000 ft absl and about 7 miles from my place, you will be treated with a wonderful vista as you descend into the Vale Of Evesham of the Malverns and Welsh Mountains out to the West, but thats of course subject to the weather!! No, on a serious note, please all of you have a safe journey here and we will see you all tomorrow ,for a kneesup with good Grub and drink! 8):p:) :clap::)

No excuses :good::yahoo: - I am picking John up at Stanstead tomorrow evening when he flies in from Cork

See you all Saturday - Hopefully Nathan can bring some good Dvd's from this year as all mine is still on tape and Tom's Laptop has broken so he has not had a chance to do a Highlights Dvd yet.

I think Arron might have thrown something together hopefully as 2010 at the moment is going down as one of the best Seasons ever and running 2004 very close for Photogenic Tornadoes.

Paul S

I will be trying to sort out my IT troubles. My trusrty old camcorder is failing so I am now trying to get my tapes downloaded onto my pc. See if you have time to get your tapes put onto disc during the week end. I am putting two dvds on discs to bring one is pretty cool.but this years, I am going to have to graft with that. one dvd is Natures Furry.

Ok well I have done most of my packing, just the kitchen sink to un-plumb. As Paul says my laptop has gone awol and now my trusty old camcorder has gone loopy. The gods are angry with me. I have got a couple of dvds which I am bringing " Natures Furry" and another cool dvd. Got a Thai dish which I am bringing along, her names Wanni, (just joking). Irish minced beef with 9 hot chillies and 9 cloves of garlic. Marinated in Nam powder Compressed into paties , left for 7 days on a shelf, cut up into small pieces and then mixed in with fresh mint, fresh corriander and lime. No not cooked.

Oh must now go remember to pack a chair, hope Andy has enough room for one.

See you all tomorrow,. Where did you say we are going? Heysham? well that's not too far.

lol Tom, you crack me up :yahoo: Must remember our chairs!

See you tomorrow old chap. Dug up my old boy scout uniform. Still fits too. I need a good night. I lost a close friend this week. He just sat down in the chair fell asleep and died. I guess its the way we all want to go. The dentist is crapping himself.

Aye, definitely a damp start to the day - as well the BBQ wasn't yesterday! However forecast actually not bad for later:

Today:

Some fairly persistent rain at first, but this should clear to scattered showers, some of them heavy with thunder possible. Showers tending to ease later in the day with some lengthy sunny intervals likely later. Maximum temperature 20 °C.

Tonight:

Any remaining showers dying away this evening. Clear spells for a time then, before cloud increases later in the night with a chance of a little drizzle. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Sunday:

Rather cloudy at first, but the cloud should soon break to give a fine and dry day with plenty of sunshine. Feeling warmer than of late in the sun. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Things nust be going well at the BBQ, nobody has posted on this thread for 8 hours!

Tomorrow it'll be buzzin' :nea:

I just got home - the rest still have loads of beer and storm porn to get through :D A few sair heids in the morning I think :)

We didn't get a storm but we did see some distant lightning!

Great to meet you all :cc_confused:
