Looking at the Countryfile forecast just now, Wales dont look to bad until late Wednesday. Most of Wales misses the deluge further SE tonight, while did not appear too many showers either early in the week in spite of the proximity of low pressure. According to that a relatively fine and dry 3-4 days, as today also is one.

I hope there are some heavy showers knocking about too, but would not mind a drier brighter spell after all the cloud and rain of recent days!

I see the Met' Office have now extended their advisory in a northward direction to include Leicestershire, Notts and Humberside. Hopefully this northward shift will continue and Derbyshire will be included later today.

As it stands we're down for about 17mm which, if it occurred, would be the wettest day since early June.

A lot of ifs but I'm the eternal optimist.

Raining here now and had a few deep rumbles of thunder.. :)

It seems everything is E or SE of me atm, the IOW detector shows a strike in the East Wight with the rest offshore to the E/SE.

Raining here properly rather than the drizzle of late.

Looks to me like no storms just the odd loud rumbles accompanying the worst of the rain. (Better than just plain rain though :D )

Maybe we get some more between now and mid Monday, its been dry for so long generally so the rain at least has an acoustic accompaniment lol.

Guest FireStorm

Is west Kent in for high rainfall totals tonight ?

West Kent is likely to see some heavy or very heavy rainfall for a time overnight but not any where close to the amount likely where the centre of the low pressure is (which is the area of most concern)...

The wind speed in particular on the Kent coastlines of 30-40mph should be noted also

Main threat will be very heavy rain with the possibility of large accumulations in quite a few parts within the main risk area, as well as strong winds across Sern and Eern coastal areas, the latter region in particular most at risk of strong gale force winds as the low deepens whilst exiting into the North Sea.

sweet this should be worth staying up for then!

Yeah, your area should see quite a bit of heavy rain overnight, plus so should we. But we'll have to wait and see when it first starts to appear on radar.

Mainly just heavy rain tonight, it's unlikely that any storms will occur!
