    Clear spells at first yesterday evening , allowed the temperature to fall to 5.0c, with 0.6c on the grass before cloudy conditions returned by mid evening and stopped any further temperature fall. Cloudy and dry again to start the day.

    After a clear start to last night the North Sea cloud spread back in during mid-evening and persisted for the rest of the night. A cloudy start to the day but, contrary to the forecast, the cloud sheet broke up and dispersed by 1000 g.m.t, even earlier than yesterday, and it's currently dry and sunny with 1 okta Stcu.

    The temp' is 9.4c after a min' of 5.1c

    Rainfall in 24 hrs ending 0800 g.m.t, nil

    Mean wind speed, 7 mph NE

    Vis', 40 km.

    A cold and frosty night and foggy later on.

    Thick fog cleared before 0900 to low cloud, but it became sunny from 1100. Rather hazier and not the brilliant sunshine of recent days. The first below average maximum for 10 days. Gentle NNW breeze this afternoon.

    Had a low of 4.6C last night, coldest this month. Been a cool day with a high of 13.8C, currently sunny with some hight cloud giving an almost orange glow. Temp 9.2C and falling, so could yet again beat last nights low.
