As a Director of Netweather I have to say it is a nice idea, one we would love to see it happen one day.

I have called his relevant managers and directors to see what contractual obligations would need to be met and if we would need to step in with some additional finance. It's a long shot, but like I say one that would really make some headlines.

The immediate response was quite warm, and we have spoken to his representatives a number of times over the past month and things were looking good. But now it seems that he doesn't want to take the position.

Sad really, Lionel Messi would have been great for Portsmouth after all they've been through.

Thanks for the update Ian, hopefully he didn't read the model thread and be put off!...lol.....here's hoping one Michael Fish gets in his ear and shows him the light!

It would be fantastic to see those eyebrows wobble next November/December when we are expecting a cold/snowy spell in winter 2011/2012.
