I think this is going to be more of a central thing tonight.

It seems to be erring to the east this time round...

Fingers crossed.

Given the cloud is a field of AcCas that is continually growing in depth (as opposed to size), I say very likely forcing will be the factor now triggering the storms. We had the initialised cape which was loading the gun so to speak. The forcing is the trigger that's going to fire it off, I think many like myself were expecting photogenic summer-thunderstorms breaking out. Looks like now these storms will be played by watching the Radar and looking outside, as your not going to see any defining features of the Tcu/CBs other than this AcCas layer shielding them.

here's something to salivate at for http://translate.google.com/translate?js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.meteociel.fr%2Fmodeles%2Fcoupes_wrf.php

Translated metieocel wrf nmm, showing an mcs at 11pm over my area, then an even more intense mcs moving up across central regions -

at 11pm the northern west country/southern midlands has some notable 0-3km helicity, and with 15c dewpoints I'm not sure these will be elevated (?)

Could be a flashfest tonight!!

:) Sam

#Edit: Might need to select WRF NMM on the bottom left menu ..

Yep, its radar and detector watching from now on. Save yourselves a lot of heartache and if you don't have NW-Extra radar, try some of the following freebies and just watch where it heads:

All go and gab yourselves a cold drink, chill in the chair and wait and see what turns up later - you know it makes sense!!!!

it's 21.6c here now and still nothing's happening. We've been really lucky in terms of temperature today. I think the best time for convection is around sunset. I wouldn't discount getting anything from those imports either as they are arriving earlier this time.
