Have seen one or two red admirals in the last two weeks but nothing much else which is very little compared to normal. Though I don't think they're supposed to be around in numbers until summer.

until summer?... its the end of august! red admirals are one of the last to be seen, true, but for numbers august is usually the top month.

I tried to add this to the Butterfly/Moth watch thread, but coundn't, .

i was in the garden at 1.30 today and saw a hummingbird hawk moth, hadn't seen one for 6 or 7 years, as i got the camera from indoors it flew over the garden opposite,i guess its ideal weather for moths at the moment.

Saw a red admiral and two large whites also
