The low cloud cleared by lunchtime and since then we've been stuck under a veil of upper cloud while ten miles east basks in sun! What an unmemorable spell of weather!

This has been the driest and sunniest first half of the year I can remember for quite a few years in the Oldham area NW. Seems that since winter we are defo under a precip shield for a change!. I mean seriously weve had a couple of showers up until today which is amazing for my area as its usually sodden most of the year round.

The rain did just finally hit and was the heaviest shower of the year but it only lasted about 2 mins and the sun is starting to emerge again. I would definately have to say that this year including summer upto now has been far from a disaster compaired to previous years in this part of the NW.... On the negative side, looks like I won't be getting any thunder storms out of this LP incursion.

Very warm, almost sultry at 26C in a light Southerly wind. Despite only 44% rel humidity it feels very muggy indeed under an increasingly threatening cloud cover (Cirrostratus, Altocumulus (some castellanus), and towering Cumulus).

Beautiful afternoon here - now 27.4c with a light warm wind. Fair bit of cloud/haze around but still plenty of warm sunshine.

Maybe tomorrow we can push another couple of degrees out of it....

Again, stuck under stupid cloud when we could do witht he sun to make temperatures higher! Today could've reached 28°C if cloud didn't ruin everything, but instead it's currently 25.1°C. How annoying.

Awoke to torrential thundery rain this morning. It didn't last long but it packed a mighty punch. Thereafter the day gradually brightened up, but never really got going with lots of cloud and no sunny breaks. In the past hour we have seen clearing skies and the sky looks lovely at present. Despite the high levels of humidity it has felt very comfortable with temps struggling to hit 20 degrees thanks to the cloud.

Tomorrow could turn out to be a good summers day if we see enough cloud breaks, not expecting many showers so hopefully we will see temps in the low 20's.

Not hot as forecast - but pleasant at about 21C and sun most of the day. Temperature has not dropped much during evening leaving us with a pleasant evening and sun in my garden to sit in after work!!!!

Similar in many respects to many recent days, cloudy am, brightening up pm with some brief sunny spells or bright under thinnish cloud cover. however today more widespread sunny spells late afternoon and into the evening. Muggy to start, with temps of 18c max and 15c min.

A much better day than I was expecting here. It started off cloudy but soon became mainly sunny and very warm and quite humid with a max temp of 25.6C at 13:26. There was cumulus over the inland half of the sky much of the day.

Some cirrostratus then weakened the sun for a while, before it became more sunny again. A sea breeze this afternoon but not really denting the temperatures.

The warmest day since the 3rd June.

Currently:

Temp: 16.1C

Dew: 14.3C

Hum: 89%

Wind: 1mph 'gusting' 3mph (NNW)

Pressure: 1014.4mb

Max: 25.6C at 13:26

Min last night: 15.7C at 22:35 yesterday evening

Another poor start to the day and with some heavy rain about midday, but then the cloud finally broke to leave a sunny afternoon and evening.
