Ok, so this was posted by Lady of the storm over on the winter2011 thread.

Rrea00120101126.gif

Its last years 26th Nov.

Over on the charts, (all be it,a long way off) I saw this for the 19th Nov.

According to the charts, Snow risk Uk wide from the 16th. (Keeping figers crossed.)

The two 500's look remarkably similair....

Interestingly, the 00Z GFS earlier today had brought back a Northerly for the 19th November, with some rather tasty looking upper temperatures. I think they're onto something...

*puts a curse on the GFS that the next time it shows a Northerly in FI, it will not get downgraded... at all!*

Also something I stumbled across from the Weather Online site (underneath summary from November 23rd onwards in the Monthly Outlook section),

"As the month draws to a close a colder flow from the north or northwest pushes unsettled and rather showery conditions south and east through all areas, the latter stages of November perhaps seeing wintry showers for most areas of the UK, winter in its true form yet to make an appearance..." by Simon & Capn Bob

Snow in November 2011 here we come! :good:

Some interesting talk of the Maunder Minimum here which happened some 300 years ago. Could we possibly be heading for another one? Hopefully :)

With nothing much showing on the horizon, it's time to raise the spirits in here with some footage from earlier in the year from Washington State, USA:

If only!

Does anybody remember the B side to Gerry Rafferty's famous song Baker Street?

With it sadly looking increasingly like there isn't going to be much chance of a white Christmas now it's time to start 'ramping' for the new year and think about what January 2012 might bring us ....

Yes, we haven't been trying hard enough and that's why we haven't had a good white winter yet!!!!

What do we think before the season is out?
