Thought I'd already posted this .....

Temperature currently 0.0C after overnight low of -0.4C.

The thing I am awaare of is that the last 4nights have seen the overnight low temperature to fall by about 0.5C degrees.

Does this represent the colder air penetration?

Coldest night so far this season at +0.1c. Still some ice around so I think some areas around this hilly area are colder than here. Always seems the very bottom of the bowl shaped area here is the coldest with more ice than here (well especially since I have none!).

Now 3.9c under lovely sunny skies and light winds at last.

yes it was a fairly extensive thin snow cover above about 5-600ft on the east side as I drove out from Chesterfield to Baslow then on to the A6 just above Chapel, I decided not to risk the 'short cut' from the Wanted Innn at Sparrowpit. On the west side it seemed to be about 700ft or so on the way down the A6. Then turning on to the A523 I think it is to Macclesfield it seemd to lower, much of Macclesfield had about 1-2cm.

A very photogenic run back with thickish Ci and the sun about 5-6 degrees above the horizon with the hills white and the valleys green.

Sorry I know its not directly under the thread heading but I thought it might interest those with knowledge of the area mentioned!
