Another cold night with a penetrating frost, though temperature wise only down to –2.2c, a constant 7 to 10mph wind was producing a wind chill of around –8c. The morning to observation has been cold, clear and frosty, widespread ice on paths and untreated roads. The saw good sunny spells, still feeling cold though, especially in the moderate south easterly wind. Top temperature 4.8c. The evening and night saw the frost returning quickly.

Clear, frosty and sunny, -1.0c after -2.9c minimum.

After posting yesterday about the dry air at altitude over the Scottish highlands, at 7am today Cairngorm recorded a dew point of -27.8c with an air temp of 0.7c giving an RH of 9.65%!

Dry and sunny in Cleadon, quite hazy, 3.5C after an overnight minimum of -4.0. There was another hard white frost on the ground at dawn, but most of this has now gone. A few contrails and patches of cirrus.

-6.3c low, currently 1.3c and falling as we approach sunset. A hard frost has been preserved by low temperatures and should be safe after 4pm as sun sets and the temperature falls. A slight south south-west breeze will probably limit the low to around -4c here tonight.

It was cloudy for a large part of the night here, but cleared a few hours before sunrise to give a frost with a min temp of -1.7C. Today was then clear and sunny throughout with very little in the way of wind. The max temp was 5.5C.

Currently clear with a vivid orange colour to the sky. The temp is 3.3C and falling fast, could be very cold tonight.
