FYI - cloud over N.Wales is being eaten by the mountains. Bonds well for painfully low night time minima :D

I'll be out in the hills tomorrow (nothing serious, just a short walk) so i'll expect to see the snow be gradually getting deeper around my ankles as the day passes around Buxworth/Chinley. Then off home to watch the reports and nip back out if the A6 becomes jammed up with commuters as usual.

It's so slow it's losing it's moisture over the land because the dewpoints are sub -6C. It's breaking up as it heads inland, and will of broken up completely in an hour.

I am actually concerned about the A6. There are delays already with the roadworks/utilities at DIsley/New Mills. Add snow to that and there will be chaos. I am to come back via bus or busses tomorrow evening from MAnchester, but I think I may just get train instead lol.

Well considering that's tomorrow's frontal system, I don't think that one will break up over Wales, SP.

Temp dropping at last, 0.7c.

I have a feeling that the colder the temp droppes tonight then the more snow the front will contain here.

Yep the A6 is notorious in snow, given rushour traffic, football matches, people avoiding higher routes, weekend traffic, etc, it's going to be interesting to say the least. Being on work-experience many, many years ago I was stuck on the 199 myself one January for some 8 hours between 4pm and midnight just moving those 12 miles. Thankfully I had some pop and sweets at hand but it's definitely not a experience i'm ever going to repeat again now i'm more wiser to the weather.

There'll be some glum faces passing me tomorrow as i'm taking some exposure shots of whatever happens.

That's just the frontal cloud. The precipitation isn't even on the radar yet. Just some showers over Ireland.
