Well I hope everyone has enjoyed their snowy Sunday as much as I have...I'm certainly ready for a lazy evening of dancing on ice now.....mind you come tomorrow morning we will probably all be doing triple salchow's on the foot paths !

Not much of a thaw here today (it got up to 2 °C) and anything that did thaw is sure to re freeze tonight - already temperature are dropping back down..

Temperature 1 °C

Windchill 1 °C

Dew Point -1 °C

Managed to get a 15 mile bike ride in this morning, was good fun snow depth was 4-5 inches and more in the drifts!

Took that pic as went to get off my bike and it stayed upright :D

Then that would make your bike tyres 8 feet tall. Are you a giant?

If the temps do drop tonight, it is going to be very dangerous. A lot of roads round here are either covered in slush or already compacted snow.

Really enjoyed today, it was lovely to have a snowy landscape among us again. Total snow depth in the end here was around 12-13cm with some drifts up to 2' in places. One great thing about this snow event is that the whole region joined in, whereas in the past few winters some have got hammered and others have missed out completely. Hopefully, the snow will stick around for a while yet.

Thanks MK, although they are forecasting 1 degree all night tonight for peterborough so we will see. In a way I would like to see negative temps so the snow will stick around longer, but it will cause such dangerous conditions tomorrow that it is perhaps something we ought to hope doesnt occur.

Forecast temps are as low as -4 over EA tonight so sub freezing temps for most. Max temp of -1oC today - just had to clear 6 inches of snow off the car ready to try and drive at about 8pm this evening and really not looking forward to it. Nor the hour drive to work in the morning! Especially if we see more snow...

Some chance of a few flakes monday morning, But this week will be dry, cold and frosty. From Wednesday onwards a brisk dry very cold Easterly wind sets in. No sign for us of any mild weather just yet.

Well thats another mind blowing event been and gone. Very pleased we all got in in the action makes a change, Got to admit this winter has been really poor up till the last week,Actually thought it would never turn up. Very cold week coming up,Very icy in the morning be carefull out there. As we have the cold in-land chances are there for sudden ppn so who knows. :good:

I would guess thats the light precip developing in conjunction with that small frontal system heading SW overnight

Could give a fresh dusting to a few locations given surface conditions, uppers look the right side of marginal too for most presently
