It was snowing in Great Asby yesterday, apparently, and it's definitely snowing here in Lille this morning, with it settling even in the city centre.

It was snowing, but not settling, in Cumbria yesterday, and there was about 5cm on High Street above 500m asl. There was then heavy hail and snow showers in the afternoon.

By the time I left Lille this morning there was 4" level snow in the city centre and still snowing very heavily. The train was still on time to the second though! It quickly turned to rain as we approached the tunnel though.

The slightest of snow covering across Brown Knoll (south side of Kinder Scout) yesterday evening. Also snow seen at the upper end of the Goyt Valley too across Shining Tor.

The amount of snow at the top of Brown Knoll in your photo' is exactly the covering we had here late yesterday morning and early afternoon for about 2 hours. It all thawed as the snow became lighter and eventually stopped.

I was in Castleton in the Peak District from Thursday to Sunday morning and then travelled back to Cumbria via a convoluted route across western pennines. There was heavy snow over Snake Pass in the morning with temps of 1 degree. It was an interesting journey back watching the temp steadily climb and the wet snow/sleet turn more to rain as the front moved through and precip became lighter. The snowline by lunchtime appeared to be around 300m. Oddly the Howgills had a very thick covering down to about 450m whereas the kentmere fells had barely a dusting it seemed. The precip must have intensified as the front moved inland. There were some heavy snow showers later in the day down to very low levels and some of the central fells i.e. high raise seemed to have got alot of snow.

Today though saw a rapid thaw of the snow, with only ground above 800m holding onto the stuff.

Heavy rain shower here this morning that turned to heavy snow. Didn't settle though.
