Horrific weather for this stage in June! Prolonged intense rainfall for most of the day with no let up, westerly winds increasing all the time with gusts over 40mph now. Rivers are rising fast around here with a flood alert issued by the Environment Agency in the last hour.

Leaves are being ripped off the trees and blasted all over the place, water is collecting and running out of the fields in torrents washing all sorts of debris down the roads.

Very acceptable if we were currently in mid November!!

Winds gusting 55-60mph here now, road conditions are terrible along with the heavy rain and tree debris being blown all over the place. Not a bad winter storm..... Oh yeah it's the 22nd June!!! rofl.gif

We've been on the southern edge of the LLC all day. Rain on/off and gusting winds but 7 miles to the south in Buxton all they've recorded is 25mm of rain. A complete contrast to the downpours we've had up here with the Beeb mentioning over 100mm has fallen in parts of N.Ireland and Cumbria.

Just wanted to show you my map i made early morning, but a connection issue stopped me from uploading it, i used 3 preciptation models and wind charts.(i didn't zone the wind warning areas)

It certainly was rough here today, must have been at least 40mph, i would expect the indicated 50-55mph on the south coast occured, il check back on the data.

Max gust of 61.3mph here last night, very stormy for late June wouldn't you say! Lots of debris ripped off the trees.

Heavy rainfall continuing into the morning for many areas, although clearing to sunshine and heavy showers as we get into the afternoon, some of this rain likely to add to any flood problems already occuring and also cause some local flooding/lots of surface water in most areas, some periods of the rain are very heavy from an active weather system

It could also become very gusty in places especially southern areas and this includes sunday afternoon

Evaporation (Boiling Water)

A cup or jug of boiling hot water thrown into a air will almost instantly freeze in midair and create a shower of tiny ice crystals. There are several reasons behind this phenomenon. First, the near-boiling water is already close to becoming steam when it is thrown into the air, which means that the water molecules are much closer to evaporating into the vapor state than they would be if the water were cold.

So if you are carrying a cup or jug of boiling hot water thrown into a air can cause cyclones and hurricanes, just maybe major snowstorms are same to like the Plains in the USA with the severe storms, droughts, heatwaves and hurricanes etc.

Hmmm Interesting, id say its highly likely this may just be in the wrong thread buddy? Don't go throwing boiling water on yourselves !! I've seen boiling water thrown into air at minus 30 in Poland and it evaporated instantly but I wouldn't try it any other time!

Not sure where to post this, so I'm sorry if this isn't the right place. Invest 93I looks like in a few days may begin intensifying as it moves WNW. Although not forcast to intensify much over the next 48 hours, after that it looks like it may intensify to a tropical storm/hurricane. But after looking on Weather Underground, the models show it's path may be across the UK. I know it is still a very long time away, and things could change greatly, the models haven't changed much in the past few days. S what do you think, possibly some more windy weather next week soemtime?

Interest is increasing on the ex hurricane Leslie, so I've decided to make some charts that are trying to pin down the path it may take.

6 computer models based on today's 12z run below,

Most of them are going for a Northerly track near Canada and eventually passing by Greenland and Iceland.

The next chart is the GFS member ensembles tracks,

Most of them agree with the models by heading North over Canada and into the Greenland and Iceland area. Some show the track to be going more into the Atlantic and about 4 of them showed it cross the UK.
