Looks like the front has moved further west than expected today. Clearing skies from 10.00 a.m. still a lot of cloud to the west but pretty much clear overhead bar high cirrus. Nice and warm at about 23 in the shade. My washing is drying on my line in an hour.

August has been curious this year but certainly much better than the last six years.

well in spite of all the cloud into mid afternoon it got to 23C with a drop of rain now and then, the cloud then cleared and its almost unbroken sunshine since giving a top T of 24.6C, so the 10th such day of over 24C and no days below the average max of 20.8C, the average max stands today at 23.9C

I've not looked through the 16 years of August data but I doubt there have been many Augusts with such a long run of warmish values?
