I can pretty much guarantee it will not snow in London next week.

As I said before, nobody can tell you when it will snow in London. Maybe it will sleet in London tomorrow, but snow is very, very unlikely, virtually nonexistent chances. Try going to the North Downs.

Haven't seen any sleet here, infact most of lowland areas of England and Wales away from the east, I suspect hasn't seen sleet thus far.

Ages like how long?

No one can tell you, it's impossible to know.

jasmine, you need to be patient. assuming you live in london, you have the problem of the extra heat generated by the city which tends to make borderline snowfall less likely plus you have little elevation. considering that its early november, i wouldnt be expecting any snowfall where you are until the end of the month at the earliest. not worth bothering with any 'wet stuff' that wont settle so take the view that you are at least three weeks away from anything and if something looks like popping up earlier, believe me, you'll know its coming if you frequent this forum - the southeast regional thread will be the place to visit. i have no idea how old you are but, living in a southern metropolis, there is always a chance that you will see no snow this winter.

Is this thread a wind up?

We have the regionals for this type of stuff.

It is impossible to put a guarantee on snow, even 24 hours out! Never mind weeks/months.

Jasmine, there is a thread dedicated to the weather for the South East in the Regional area of Net Weather. Follow this link: http://forum.netweather.tv/topic/74874-south-east-east-anglia-regional-discussion-november-1st-2012/

In the mean time, I'll lock this thread.
