Had a small snow shower here earlier, seems to have turned sleety. Not sticking on roads or pavements.

Just away to check the nearest lamppost :)

Just out checking cattle and have just seen lightning to the east. Shades of December 2010. Currently -1c and clear skies above but showers to east obviously.

BBC weather shows cold but largely clear conditions overnight and tomorrow with snow showers in northern parts of the country. The forecast also looked like better for the snow prospects here on Thursday with snow flurries following behind.

how did the current interesting band heading for central affect perth and dundee? anything interesting?

We just had some sleet/wet snow at times on and off throughout the daylight hours so nothing too exciting here. There is apparently lying snow just to the north though in places like Auchterhouse and Tealing so I assume most of inland Angus should at least have a covering.

standby for meltdown tomorrow and transport chaos.....

Fergieweather: Ok: hot off press: based on new UKV, which represents quite a marked escalation, we are upping snowfall issues to 5cm plus in areas N of London, especially Herts, Bucks, Beds, across Chilterns to Oxon. Concern now re potential disruptive impacts tomorrow AM.

they been so busy chasing Fi barely anyone noticed this

Once you lot get oui of your scratchers, you will be very pleased with the overnights I think. Big upgrades from the ECM and GFS.

We have had a good three inches of snow overnight and it is still falling. It is a bit windier today too.

Mornign all - a good few cm's here overnight and lookng like a few more showers through the day. Nice to see - worth the wait!

Bit of an upgrade for the system moving in tomorrow. Still expect rain but MetO saying sleety mess tomorrow, when before it was saying rainy mess. Assume elsewhere has had similar upgrade. Thereafter a relatively milder few days until early next week then who knows?

Just the lightest of tiny snow showers passing over here. -0.3 C.

Only picked up about 1 mm yesterday, but was still snow falling on lying snow.
