Bah, I have rain & sleet next weekend on mine.

Think they are done on the raw GFS output so lets hope the next GFS run shows 10ft blizzards for the SW. lol. blum.gifblum.gif

Its more the trend of it turning much colder that is nice to see, snow at 6/7 days out is impossible to predict but if we get the cold in place then we have a chance... good.gif

plenty of flooding around here...The River Avon is a major cause for concern locally as flood waters are still filtering into the area from upstream and more rain is forecast...Flood warnings locally for Chippenham, Melksham & Calne

Thought I would post this here as it has a specific mention to the SW in the last sentence;

UK Outlook for Friday 30 Nov 2012 to Sunday 9 Dec 2012:

A mixture of sunshine and wintry showers at first. The showers mostly affecting eastern areas, with the west tending to see the best of the drier conditions. The heaviest showers will be towards the northeast, falling as snow over higher ground. Windy at times, with the risk of gales in exposure. It will be rather cold with a risk of overnight frost and icy patches. Becoming cold as we continue into December, with widespread overnight frosts. Further wintry showers, especially in the north and east, where accumulations over high ground are likely with snow perhaps falling to low levels. Also the potential for some more widespread outbreaks of rain, sleet and hill snow, especially towards the southwest.

Updated: 1156 on Sun 25 Nov 2012

Time to polish your skies Mullender! lol. :p

Sounds like a marginal event which could swing either way at this stage so don't be too worried about rain & sleet at lower levels just yet.

Exciting times ahead!

Lets just all pray for a decent stalling atlantic front or channel low...

I don't mind marginal although I'd rather a west country wide event and although it says hills currently like you say there is plenty of time for an upgrade! Think the excitment levels will grow from mid-week as long as models don't fall apart on us clapping.gif

Your new avatar is interesting.... rofl.gif

"Time to polish your skies Mullender! lol."

I imagine a ski run down Mullender's little hill would take, oooh, all of 10 seconds LOL

After 34.4mm of rain yesterday i was expecting a dry day. Currently getting battered by frequent heavy showers and squally winds, rather pleasant actually. :D

141.8mm for November.

1161.2mm for 2012.

If the A37 had a thick covering I bet it would be fun to ski down into shepton mallet! Or same for the other side down from the mast on bristol hill into wells! drunk.gif

Lack of a chair lift back up would be a pain though! laugh.png

Need to invest in some snow dogs!

Ian Fergusson â€@fergieweather

W COUNTRY Longer range prospects continue to firm-up on a notably cold spell into the next fortnight with a periodic risk of snow increasing

I think that needs to be placed in the MOD thread.

Would keep a few pessimists quiet! :p :p

Ok, feet firmly on the ground as it is only one run, however this is one run we can trust IMO. cold.gif
