It's changed for this area all the time. I still probably think (with my minutes worth of weather knowledge & experience lol) that anything is still possible.

Looks good for an all snow event in Leeds on Monday, only expecting most people to get 3-8cm though.

It will be a nowcast situation as ever - we won't be sure on how much snow will fall until the snow has stopped falling.

Yes it has to be an all snow event.

It's looking good arron, my only fear would be slightly milder air feeding in from the irish sea and causing our snow to turn a bit sleety. So I will be keeping an eye on the wind direction and hoping it doesn't veer any more west than NNW. Apart from that uppers are good, as is the 0 degree isotherm.

It will just come down to who locally get's the heaviest pulses of snow and who get's those dreaded little gaps/weak patches in precipitation.

Currently I'm thinking this regarding snowfall totals:

Sunday evening:

west/north yorkshire 1-3cm

elsewhere 0-2cm

Monday

Everywhere 3-7cm

On high ground you could add perhaps 50% to those totals or maybe even double. Obviously less near the immediate coastline, but could be heavier here in nature so could even itself out.

Tuesday-thursday +

Eastern areas/linconshire look most at risk, totals? hard to say as it will be a case of showers feeding in from the north sea, very hit and miss. Some in these favoured areas could get a trace while others get 7-10cm.

Things will change and pop up at short notice so it's a case of nowcasting and a little common sense :p

So these are my general snowfall predictions by the end of thursday presuming there will be little snow melt ; )

1-4" generally. 4-8" high ground.

I've been spoilt by the 21cm single fall in Jan 10.

It will be a nowcast situation as ever - we won't be sure on how much snow will fall until the snow has stopped falling.

This event seems much simpler than last Feb's for example so whilst we can nowcast for exact timing and intensity this one to me is a done deal.

I've got to admit that 8cm doesn't excite me as much as it would have done - I'm still awaiting the first foot or more snowfall, that hasn't been seen since the 90s.

Looks like some showers coming in off the north sea along the Humber area don't know if they will fall as snow here temps are a bit high at 3.5c dew point at 3.4c fool.gif

Expecting a couple of cm's by the end of Monday, maybe 4-5cm if im lucky with any heavier bursts (as they normally miss me). Thereafter some snow showers, although very hit and miss given how far in land i am, should hopefully keep it topped up. With a covering of snow i should record some very cold nights/days, although unfortunately my weather station has broke so no way of recording it :/

Well, i said i wouldn't moan!

Temp 3.6C with Humidity at 67% giving a Dew Point of -1.7C. Ground wet so it must have rained in the last hour or so.

Still concerned about Monday and any snow turning to sleet or rain at the end of the day.

Does anyone know when the NMM / NAE model runs next? (Hopefully it was just a blip!).

Or i could just hope this is right!

Some heavier PPN currently near the coast could reach us later, and maybe leave a dusting.
