Flakes are getting bigger, --0.8C and the skies orange.

A bit shocked really as not expecting snow until late Sunday night, Monday morning.

At last, light snow now falling in south east sheffield. So good to see the orange glow when you open the curtains.

I gave up checking. My OH told me to keep the door shut. lol

Plenty of ppn out on the coast/sea waiting to pounce, heavier than what we are getting at the moment, heres hoping that it keeps the intensity.

Gentle snow falling down here.. looking at all that precipitation in the N Sea, waiting to see where it goes.

No troughs, just convection.

A trough is a weather front that usually brings rain or some other form of precipitation

Surprised by all these rain reports, especially in Chesterfield of all places!

Convection looks to be dying out now. I have a feeling next week is going to be a bit of a let down to be honest. A lot of hype. In the end, the weather will do what the weather wants. Spend more time looking for the beginning / end of a cold spell than actually enjoying the cold spell and snow when it arrives.
