Just took a quick look outside and it's settling quite fast now - the radar indicates it won't last long though! Could be a total nonevent for here.

A bit of a let down for low ground, the Pennines did there job at effectively destroying the intensity. The precipitation has reformed pretty well east of Leeds with some bright echoes showing!

Started snowing at woerk here in Donny about 15 minutes ago and has pepped up quite a bit now. Ovwernight stuff is still around so I do not see a problem with settling here, although I can't see a road from where I am!

Send it over to scunny

Still coming down here, hoping it continues for just a little longer to cover the roads.

Moderate snow now, but radar now showing much lighter to west, and probably likely to stop in next hour or so. Heaviest will be further east as suggested on various forecasts last night

That band on radar is still moving quickly at this rate it will be over by dinner time.

Another 7.5 hours of snow then. You should be snowed in by dinner time.

the snow intensity is not an issue here in wakefield, its just not settling on the roads or pavements, surely its cold enough and intense enough, i dont understand why it isnt.

Current depth is 3.5cm (table), although only a 1cm on the paths due to melt from last night and it only just settling. I estimate from the radar that it should of cleared by about one to half past, but it all looks light to moderate so two hours should perhaps double to about 6cm!

Heavy snow in York but not settling on roads or pavements - even struggling on grass. Probably not going to get a covering out of this except over the hills. I imagine the Wolds in East Yorkshire will get a fair few centimetres.
