A bit lower than you - Fitton Hill area of Oldham. Not surprised your area is getting more snow. That said situaition is less marginal now, so I expect even my 175m asl will benefit if we just get that sweet spot in terms of precipitation.

Ah, Totally downhill from here.. and in more ways than one lol.

Has the 12z been conservative with it's precipitation amounts from the main front?

Take a look at the radar now and compare it to the GFS 12z for this time frame. the precipitation that is currently sat over the UK is far more extensive, and heavier than the GFS anticipated, this to me spells an upgrade coming up on the 18z GFS in 2 hours time. Watch for the eastward adjustment.

slowly starting to get a covering now

is your flakes small or big?

Medium size flakes I would say here. Intensification between Liverpool and manchester on radar.

not sticking in south liverpool. to be honest im not sure what to expect, im new to all this, id settle for a coveing, better than nothing.more sleety i think though not checked, trying not to curtain twitch just yet..

I don't care-just to feel hitting my face and watch it sheeting down against a security light will do me.

Nothing sleety about it here. Been snowing for a good few hours now, snow grains and graupel mostly, although a few bigger flakes mixed in. Got a slight dusting although it is finding it hard to stick. Temperature 0.4°C

This just proves west Cumbria is the worst location for snow in the north west and only the far south west England is worse in the whole of England! I'm being serious
