unsurprisingly very little in Preston....and looking at the radar not much heading this way for a while...still there was some snow (nothing close to sticking) so thats a start.......

this current ppn wasnt even forecast what we are getting now yet its nearly 200 miles from the south to north and 100 miles wide

It was forecast - just not by the BBC and the METO only started mentioning it this afternoon

PPN out in the Irish sea seems to be pepping up, heading this way! Liam if your on what do you think the chances are of Cumbria seeing snow tonight?

Probably a lot higher than many of the models or TV broadcasts would have you believe! Amazed at rate this ppn has been developing over the last few hours, show me a 12z model that has forecast this at the same level of intensity? It's nearly as significant in it's own right! I'd say eventually it'll merge with the main band and become even heavier!

Just watched bbc weather 18:30 and its looking good for me in leyland. snow showers tonight until the main band arrives tomorrow.

Temp up slightly to 1.1 with fine grauple mostly melting and just slight slushy deposit on some surfaces. Fingers crossed for the cold air to headbutt its way further west.

Wow I was not expecting this every surface now covered just a bit annoyed the council have decided to grit most of the pavements. Still can see it on my street and road moderate snow falling.
