Sure is, lets see if my snow dome can be penetrated! Most ppn charts look good for the whole region and more widespread than Fridays event. Strong winds and blowing snow possibly smile.png

there shouldn't be any problems with it coming from the south east either. no pennines, nothing so anything that does come up should be decent for the lucky ones.

is that from an imby point of view liam or for the whole of the n/w regioncray.gif

Certainly potential for the whole NW region to get snow cover, further north you are the stronger the winds will be.

I think today is a Very interesting day for weather as its very rare for a SE or E flow really and such a rare setup! Im watching with cautious anticipation.

What's our chances today into tommorow

to be honest it could go any way all depends on the easterly wind and how far north the PPN can go while the easterly is taking it west

It's on the way and this time the eastern parts of the region will be in the firing line.

Just need the BBC to grasp the fact that there is more to this than London and the SE.

Where Di Oxberry when you need her.

reasonably confident. not expecting inches personally.

Do you think there's a good chance we could get an inch here?

I wonder if Stockport could get some today?.....looks like that band moving up may just skirt a bit to the west of us though fool.gif

I think looking at the radar and the nw trajectory its on at the moment, looks very interesting. The bigger that band grows the more interesting it becomes...looks more to the east for the heavier stuff though, and the main bulk is unlikely to get here until dark I would have thought...depends on the speed at which it's currently moving nw

i think the WHOLE nw could fair well from this, as mentioned previously, this is a very rare setup from the SE.

from what I can tell from the radar, the main and bigger bulk is on the west side, while the heavier precip is on the east side. The cold block is still in place, if so, you already know which direction it will head in, which means the east part of the region is currently in line for a small battering. on higher routes could be quite an accumulation blum.gif

*If* the GFS is correct Stockport could well have a covering of snow by the morning :)

Looking good for a few cm at least! The eastern side of the county may see many inches fall.

Sorry that last comment of mine was bordering on a ramp and after being caught out so many times in the past I don't do ramps.

We could get a fair covering from this unless the usual, NW region, if it can go wrong it will takes over but TBH you don't need a lot with

strong winds as they do the work.

I went out walking yesterday and only 15 minutes away, the drifts were 5 feet high and that from a couple of inches of powdery snow.
