Sorry that last comment of mine was bordering on a ramp and after being caught out so many times in the past I don't do ramps.

We could get a fair covering from this unless the usual, NW region, if it can go wrong it will takes over but TBH you don't need a lot with

strong winds as they do the work.

I went out walking yesterday and only 15 minutes away, the drifts were 5 feet high and that from a couple of inches of powdery snow.

nice. where did you go?

Woo hoo it's dusting again! :)

Radar is showing a clump of dust heading your way from Yorkshire.

It looks a little to far south for me although we have our own dust falling anyway and that is to fine to even show on the radar.

I have to say as cold spells go this one has been pretty woeful, I've only recorded three nights of below zero temps. Until ( or should I say if ) we see heights transfer to Greenland and a negative NAO develop, the chances of a deep cold and snowy spell for all the NW will continue to look slim.

nice. where did you go?

Just from home in Bacup up to the Lancs/Yorks boundary.

To cold to go much further but I expect if you went up from your part of the world on towards Brown Wardle the snow would be piled against the walls.

I certainly wouldn't like to be on weekend maintenance duties up at Scout Moor Wind Farm today.

Must be perishing.

As feared, there's no way we are getting out of here this morning:

This is advancing through building across the midlands ATM. Quite impressed and the intensification over the last hour.

These temps are ridiculous. 1.5 WTF?

Off topic, but your ears were burning last night -went out for a few pints with Ben Stubbs (captain croc off TWO) :p

Hope you get some snow this afternoon. NAE actually looks really promising for your area tonight.

Definitely a nowcasting/radar situation though

Get someone to bring you a sack of gravel to spread all over, not sure how they would get it there, or um...

I think you need a red (state of emergency) warning for your locality lol

Well the ligher precip is coming easily into the north west, but BBC forecast indicated the heavier stuff won't be here until late in the day, and maybe sitting in situ for most of the night for some lucky areas out to the east.

id personally like the government to remove their right to broadcast..will never be missed.

OMG snowing here now fine stuff-wasn't expecting that. Are we getting the north western edge of all that stuff coming up from SE?

no your getting a small blodge of it, but later in a couple hours the main band might be here, and there should be a good several hours worth of snow. original forecast had this tomorrow..so i don't know

temp should go down under the snow anyway, being as its a SE flow from a very cold landmass
