NAE last night went for 15mm of rain = 15cm of snow for us today... very unlikely.

you haven't taken into account the back building and the direction this stuff is heading in, there is a slight westward tilt to it, sheffield cold block again? :p

Well done to the models for picking up western extent of the ppn, the area of low pressure now moving into SE England with the heavier snow which is going to track up the eastern side of the UK, light to moderate falls further west.

Different to Friday as we haven't got the big cold blocking high pressure refusing to let the ppn advance north and east.

i think if you watch the track very carefully you can see the heavier stuff slowly begin to shift westwards too

I have a feeling that this will stay well south of Kendal again. Temp now 2.4c but wind picking up.

Not looking good for here me thinks.

Snow eased to very light snow. Doubt we'll get much more today.

Nowt here

Anything we get will probably come later in the day and overnight as the band pivots and then pushes northwards up the eastern side of the country.

Hopefully the increasing winds from the east will force this towards the Pennines and over into the region.

If it does, and it is an IF then we should see a covering at least.

Still got the usual fine dust which now seems to have been falling for ever and there are signs of a more organised band of showers heading in from the east which may pep up the intensity a bit.

But what about those majestic peaks the pennines, you know the ones which seem impenetrable to any advancing snow from the East.biggrin.png
