Heavy fine smow in Bingley n sky looking amazing through my wine filled eyes. Settled everywhere.

joggs - it was you that I couldn't remember - I'm on V strong Italian beer - almost as good as wine :-)

Reports of freezing rain on TWO @ 200m ask in Glossop.

That's what I thought might happen when there's cold surface conditions and warm uppers. Scary event

Hello everyone, my first post on the forum

As you can tell from my name im a winter fan hehe, and I picked tonight to say hello as its a massive blizzard outside on the western hills of Sheffield

Looking at the met office radar, all those lovely reds and pinks are heading our way, so the forecast for 10cm+ tonight may be accurate for once!

Lets hope so ey, and I hope everyone in Yorkshire and Lincs gets the good stuff!

Heavy snow coming down now and being blown about in the wind. Any areas where the snow had melted are now white over again. It's as if somebody has shaken a giant snow dome!

Sorry to keep on about this but it really is a bit strange. If you can be bothered check out the two M62 traffic cams (http://www.bbc.co.uk/travelnews/leeds/trafficcameras) camera 82/7B (Scammonden dam) showing heavy snow, camera M62 85/6A (Outlane) - which is literally 1 mile further east - and it's raining !!!

Red blob appeared from nowhere over the top of us on the radar, its a whiteout, -1.2C.

Pure lottery whether you get snow, sleet, freezing rain, hail, graupel or the kitchen sink tonight - very strange front this one, entirely down to the override of warmer uppers. Makes for an interesting night of lampoost watching though as don't know what to expect next. Agree with Pennine Ten Foot Drifts - this is a very odd evening.

Its really heavy in mosborough,some bits are like the size of £2 coins fingers crossed we get some more snow in February
