cant post it as on smartphone and in work BUT see Ian's tweet on his twitter account re Bristol snow for rush hour and evening.

Ian Fergusson â€@fergieweather

Temperature profile increasingly conducive to snow in Bristol area & especially by rush-hour/eve as heavier rates likely #Bristolsnowwatch

Just noticed that. I also notice he has reports of snow in nearly every part of Bristol except the part in currently in now. :p :p

Swindon is defo in the firing line, it looks to pivot and hold around the m4 which i'm sure will cause transport issues. This could be a really big fall, in a short space of time.

Radar has been showing ppn over this part of the region for over an hour now, but I can assure you that there has been nothing. No rain, sleet, snow, drizzle, snizzle or anything else that could possibly come down!! Metoffice app has heavy snow for me at 3pm and 6pm, so something has to turn up soon!

I've just had 2 texts to say that it is now snowing in Donut town

Prohecyman, Go easy bud, starting to get little bit more now but roads still clear. Bottom Frome not to bad, higher up parts more and i expect the Buckland Dinham to Radstock road is taking a pasting as it always does so go easy there mate.

Snowing again now:)

Just send it this way o.k.

Jjudging from the NAE - Gloucester could again be in the sweet spot ... good.gif

There is some uncertainty regarding location/intensity of the snow later... so no complacency here.. just anicipation ! acute.gif

Had a few cm's early hours today which was a nice surprise though there has been some melt.

Just back from the top of the Cotswolds - minor roads forget it !

.

Good luck all ! (might be the last chance before the atlantic breaks through over w/end ?)

John in Gloucester (Quedgeley - low down)

And it has just started raining!! But it has a really sleety appearance, so I wouldn't be surprised to see it turn to snow soon smile.png Temp is around 1c (according to accuweather phone app)

Definitely sleet/snow now. But Timer beat me to it!!

Have attempted to post on a couple of occasions and failed.

But I'd like to thank you folks for delaying the progression of this front, I really thought it would arrive far earlier than the current radar suggests.

What I feel this should do is aid the chances of more widespread snowfall from the rush-hour onwards.

Currently 1.1c AT, -0.5c DP, steady barometer at 999.9mb in Newbury, Berkshire, so very marginal as things stand. The leading edge of the precipitation is roughly 10-15 miles due South of my location.

*Please keep your reports coming as these will be most welcomed by MetO affiliated people and the like and should help clarify the situation down on the ground. There will be difficult travelling conditions ahead for many folk as darkness falls
