Well its been snowing now for 5 and a half hours here in East Morton. Just measured and we have had 1.5 inch so far today.

We really haven't had the heaviest precipitation over us at all, so not surprised with the amount....there's heavy stuff to the west of us, but will it reach us as that? I'm not so sure.....

Temp dropped below freezing now -0.2c and snowing moderately, everywhere covered

Came back from York early! Amazing how the temp keeps falling, now -0.8. Has been mainly light here but slowly increasing in intensity and the weather station on top of the hill is reporting -1.5 with gusts to 30 knots. Brrrr.

Just noticed that all the moisture on the outside of the window has frozen! Finally some heavier snow arrives.

Yippee More snow in Lincoln..........heavy fine stuff but settling, car says temp is -1.5 but weather station says -0.3. Hope we get more!

Snowing fairly heavy here in york at the moment good covering everywhere I'd say around 1.5 inches more than I was expecting kids are all off out sledging which might give an idea of how much there is .:-)

although the snow is still falling, slight thaws are already developing in some sports. In others its still adding up. I'd give it another couple of hours then expecting a rapid thaw to kick in before the rain. At least we'll have Utd-Madrid to distract us!

Barely started here, fine snow flakes at present, settling readily on roofs etc..., not getting excited though, expecting it to turn to rain overnight unless something miraculous occurs.

Are you sure? I've just coming home from Leeds and there was no sign of a thaw, the wind is increasing which is causing the snow to be whipped up in places as well. Temperatures remain consistent in the centre at -0.3c, DP -0.8c

Anyway measured the snow here and there's 7cm.

Well, that's the end of that, sleety rain now although temp still showing as 0c with DP -2.2c. Warmer uppers must have properly arrived I guess.

Getting heavier now, would be nice if this first front was snow for the duration.
