NAE shows some snow accumulation later today on a relatively widespread basis, with falling dews and 850pha temperatures, so don't give up hope just yet.

To my untrained eye, the centre of the low is over the coast of mid wales. I think this will head south east after the pivot, is the right?

Not only the elevation, but the fact that it's at the centre of a city of some 750,000 people doesn't help! Glad I live in the 'burbs during these situations.

Was snowing until about 11am this morning, since the n it been a constant quick heavy stream of rain. If any snow does fall tonight, it will not settle as the ground is now absolutely soaked through. cray.gif

It has always been head about SSE and will continue in that direction according to the pressure falls and rsies around it

Is it meant to rotate back South or will it continue to go North I wonder?

see post 14 SW?

Wind picking up considerably. System still trundling north

see post 14 the low is moving SSE the rain band is rotating around it and on its eastward side is currently moving northwards, southwards on its western flank. This process will continue as the low itself moves SSE?

Temp back down to 2.3C. Very light rain/sleet.

9.4mm of rain/sleet/snow. Now if that stayed as snow think of depth....
