Good morning all, just been scrolling through posts last night and this morning, where's JP disappeared to? Anyway snowstorm Nemo came to visit yesterday and overnight, shame the Atlantic warmed it up so much but judging by the reports this morning it caused some chaos further up country.

Beautiful morning here with some almost warm sunshine, just shows the fickle nature of British weather, you think spring may have arrived but still very strong signals from ECM/UKMO for a return of continental flow later next week. Initally it looks quite dry but if the cold block moves over to Greenland I am sure we will see something wintry and hopefully with cold uppers!.

All along way off in FI at the moment and subject to change. Oh and GFS what can I say - sad and lonely with little or no support from anywhere and unlikely to be right even at this early stage.

Loving this FI chart - Cold flow with PV lobe starting to drop south in our direction.

So nice to see the sun today tho (-:

Was thinking of buying my wife a weather station for Valentine's Day - she hates the weather but it wouldn't go to wastewhistling.gif Might pick some daffs out of the garden and paint them red later!

Thankfully there is no chance that the other 'arf will ever read this postaggressive.gif

Seriously though have a nice day, We have been together for 25 years with three lovely kids wouldn't have changed it for the world!smile.png

I thought i would post Ian f latest post from the Model discussion thraed .

Update: MOGREPS now agrees with EC on scope and onset of blocking with longevity well into trend period (10-15d): cold & frosty; dry/largely dry for most with exception of E districts initially & showers tending to migrate progressively to more central districts with time.

Hi all

Noticeably milder today with sunshine........lovely

Jan,

Really, all this negative talk will transmit itself to your team, with another poss. match later next week, in the Snow Depth Cup, that's not the sort of team talk you should be giving, surely!

They'll probably all need therapy now, poor little dears........ I can recommend a good one, just off the High Street near the Glades!wink.png

Regards,

Tom.

So MOGREPS, comes more in line with ECM.just adsz more weight to my thinking bored of saying so but here goes again never ignore the ecm even when showing candy for the eye even latter frame.the model is of great value in the world of trend setting.i think even the wibble wobble model with call ship ahoy and align. And just to round off, my bets are on perhaps, the harsher, part of winter yet to evolve....

Is it the sun rising over a fence or other high obstacle with part of the garden remaining in the shade?

No, if anything the lower garden is more shaded by the house, the upper garden is shaded by trees only. It's quite odd.

  • April 2024 - Was it that cold overall? A look at the statistics

General perception from many is that April was a cold month, but statistics would suggest otherwise, with the average temperature for the whole month coming in just above the 30 year average for the UK as a whole.
