Can't see how this is going to last as long as predicted looking at the radar.

Stalled Front which is the reason. It's the strengh of the front which is going to be the defining feature.

Isn't there a second band due..

No

Heavy snow most of today, and tomorrow, affecting E York's and Lincs too, so more widespread.

Hence why its moved in so quick. Right I'm having a day off work then. Work in Leeds and I can see traffic getting worse all day

BBC forecast has it pepping up especially over night.

Yes Honeyplanet, those strong eastily winds look to drive it quite badly.

Thanks. I'll be keeping my eye on the radar today. Obviously living at the elevation we do it pays to be aware of how bad it may get.. Plus i bloody love snow ;)

-0.6C and 8-9cm on my wheelie bin, just walked home from work and theres foot deep drifts on the paths. Started snowing lightly about 1.30am

and got heavy at 3am, only fine snow but its put a lot down.Workmates just come in from Elsecar near Barnsley, he said theres a light covering

at home but when he hit Thurgoland a couple of miles from here it got bad and the roads were covered.

Its fine powdery snow thats drifting in the wind, just looked on METO for Penistone and it has heavy snow all the way through until tomorrow, if

it stays like this we'll be snowed in.

Ok its silly out there.

Already got 1 foot drifts with about 5cm covering on flat ground, but its really difficult to really get a true amount. Really horrible out there.

Looking on the radar the real beefy stuff is over Stoke on Trent now (07:14).. Gonna be an interesting watch to see if it makes it east and settles on us.. :)

Just been looking at that and thought the same thing, even had the ruler on the screen lining up the trajectory, its going to be close.

Its getting heavier now, this is better than winter. Gritter ploughs just gone up the main road spraying brown crap allover the path, well done

gritter, a snowball greeting on his return is in order.

I'm glad i'm done for the weekend now, i can relax and enjoy it. I better go get a couple of pints of milk before the panic buying lunatics

clear the village out.

Is it bad over your way?
