Snow coming down pretty fast and settling in s10 - just near Sheffield University. Was settling on the main road up to Broomhill too when I got off the bus an hour ago. Would not like to be travelling anywhere tonight & will do very nicely indeed with the big bar of Fruit and Nut I've panic-bought! Might be forced to take a stroll for a curry though - who'd be a delivery man on nights like this?!

Just amazing scenes outside, heavy blowing snow and sub zero temperatures now. 8cm earlier today and about another couple this evening so far but impossible to measure properly due to the drifting

Just to add there was no marginality in our area, there was slight wetness in the snow for a short time, but no thaw at all...

The snow is settling in Leeds centre so I'm surprised to read it's not settling in places like Normanton and Whitkirk.

I genuinely cannot think of any reason as to why the snow isn't settling at all here with a temperature of 0.3C (decreasing) and dew of -1C. The ground is just wet. What a load of crap.
